Top 10 Questions to Ask Your Wedding Videographer

Choosing the right videographer for your wedding day can be stressful. Asking the right questions can make you feel more secure in your decision.

1. Are you available on our wedding date?

This should be the first question you ask your wedding videographer, before you spend a lot of time discussing pricing or package options.

Our company books up to two years in advance. Also, after you have secured your date, you don’t have to worry about cancelations because we don’t double-book our dates.

2. What parts of the wedding do you cover?

We arrive at your location and began shooting everything from the bride and groom getting ready, the ceremony, the best man/maid-of-honor speeches, the reception, and b-roll at all these locations. We can also cover any additional aspects in more detail upon your request.

3. What is the videographer’s filming style?

Our wedding videos are filmed in cinematic, montage style. What this means is that our videos are presented as a collection of important moments from your wedding day shot in high resolution, movie quality video set to music.

4. What will I receive after you’ve filmed?

You will receive a three to five minute video of your wedding shot in montage style, two DVD copies (with more upon request), and your video uploaded online for easy sharing with friends and family. Depending on your selected package, you can also receive raw, un-edited footage of the entire event.

5. How long will it take for the video to be edited/delivered?

Typically within two weeks, you will be able to watch your wedding video online. After you have seen the video and we make sure you are happy with it, we send out the DVDs and un-edited footage (if that is include in your chosen package) after the full payment has been received.

6. How are prices determined?

Your wedding video package can be specially customized for you based on several factors including the number of camera operators that will be covering your wedding, the travel expenses to your location, and the deliverables you wish to receive.

7. What are the package payment plans?

After we know the location and your selected package option, we can discuss package payment plans. The basic plan asks for 30% down when you book your date and the final payment due after your video is delivered online. We offer other plans that can be tailored to fit your budget. For example, if you book in advance, you have the option of making monthly payments. We can create a custom payment plan just for you!

8. What methods of payment are accepted?

We accept cash, check, and credit/debit card payments.

9. What qualifies you as a wedding videographer?

Our team has been working with film for several years. They have filmed a variety of other events for commercials, short films/documentaries, and engagement videos. After working in reality television with Teen Mom and Tosh.0, our crew enjoys shooting “in the moment” and creating an enjoyable, memorable video for couples.

10. Any other questions you have!

I know this is said a lot, but I don’t think it can be stressed enough—this is your day! Don’t be afraid to ask your videographer any questions that will help you feel more secure in your decision to book them. This could include anything from questions about equipment, music selection, special requests for the video, or any other concerns you may have. You can always call or even request a Skype meeting with us to discuss any of your questions.

Your videographer’s goal is to give you a wedding video that reflects who you and your fiancé are as a couple and capture the memories of the day you become husband and wife in a video that you, your children, your families, and friends will enjoy for years to come. You can help them do this by being open about what you would like to see in your video.
